How Windows and Doors installation works

  1. A Rénoclimat advisor evaluates the home's envelope BEFORE the work, openings included.

  2. You have ENERGY STAR certified windows and doors installed by a contractor.

  3. A final energy evaluation confirms the improvements made.

  4. The Rénoclimat assistance is paid according to the eligible openings replaced.

Benefits of Windows and Doors

  • Work eligible under Rénoclimat as part of a building-envelope improvement project
  • Reduces heat loss and draughts around openings
  • Better comfort and less winter condensation
  • ENERGY STAR certified models suited to the Québec climate
  • Improves the home's energy rating
  • Pairs well with insulation and air sealing

Typical cost

Highly variable depending on the number and type of openings. Rénoclimat reimburses part of the eligible windows and doors.

Costs vary significantly depending on property size, existing systems, and installer. A surveyor's assessment will give you an accurate figure. Available grants (listed below) can substantially reduce the net cost.
